Lore.

years 0 — 99.

the Kingdom of Yūyake was first established 849 years ago; by the existing Royal Family at the time, and barely three hundred citizens. One settlement was developed, later blossoming into dozens more, throughout the century. Since establishment, the Royal Family has not changed, and the earliest settlers are remembered solely through books documenting history.

Yūyake entered it’s first large scale conflict against the Eastern Empire, eighty years after the kingdom’s establishment. During this, the kingdom’s forces were vastly outnumbered, yet they did not lose. Unlike those from the east, those fighting for Yūyake possessed animalistic traits, pushing them past the capabilities of regular human beings. This war, however, cost the life of the Kingdom’s second King; a blow still not forgotten by the country’s citizens.

however, during this war, something unexpected happened. A small woman with wolf-like features appeared on the battlefield, and singlehandedly overwhelmed both sides, with unprecedented physical strength and magic. After decimating both opposing forces, the wolf disappeared, and she was henceforth known by the title of ‘Wolfen Demon’. Whilst years ticked by and wars were fought, this ‘Demon’ continued to appear on battlefields, wiping out those engaging in battle, before once again disappearing. With every appearance, the level of it’s power became increasingly evident, and startling connections to ancient mythology were made. This Demon - this wolf - appeared to be the fourth, cursed divine being. The being which had fallen from ‘grace’, was stripped of it’s immortality, and sentenced to an eternity upon the mortal realm. If this truly was the same wolf from legend, the kingdom’s future was darkening.

years 100 — 199.

This brutal cycle of war ended by slaughter continued on, until 712 years ago.

the ‘Demon’ had made another appearance, only this time, there was a knight capable of standing up to them, and fighting back. They were regarded as the strongest warrior the Kingdom had ever seen, and, despite it costing them their life, managed to strike the Demon. It was barely a graze, and yet - it supplied all the information that was needed. This woman could bleed. And if something bled, it could indeed die.

following this event, the Royal Family took into action. Putting into act a countrywide adventurers guild, warriors were ‘cultivated’ and developed, in the desperate hope that they would prove to be effective opponents against the Demon plaguing their battlefields. A strict ranking system was set in place, and the thirteenth rank, Orichalcum, was the estimated level that the knight capable of damaging the Demon was at. Four further ranks beyond Orichalcum were created, the highest being Luralchium. This guild acted as one would expect. Requests from civilians were taken in and distributed to appropriately ranked adventurers, and an individual would rise in rank after accomplishing certain feats. Any adventurer to rise into Orichalcum or above were directly spoken to by the current Ruler, and notified of the ‘true’ purpose of the guild. Wether or not they would join the cause of striking the Demon was, and still is, entirely optional, but few have ever declined.

years 200 — 299.

the year 627 was the final large scale conflict Yūyake would ever have, up until the present day. In the season of winter, the Eastern Empire carried an all out invasion on the country, though was inevitably unsuccessful. The presence and aid of even a single Luralchium class adventurer was more than enough to allow the Kingdom to claim victory, though towards the end of the invasion, the Wolf made her appearance. In total, there were eight adventurers of the Orichalcum class or higher engaging in combat, though not one made it out alive. Those of lower ranks were eliminated the earliest, until the second one on one duel occurred, between the Demon and the Luralchium class. Whilst they did not die easily, their death occurred nonetheless - the Wolf was left to stand over the bloodied corpse of an opponent capable of landing damaging attacks, but alas, they were not enough.

following this conflict, there was not a single following war. No other country dared oppose Yūyake - be it out of fear of the demonic wolf, or of the warriors the country was producing.

years 800 - 849.

the current King was crowned in the year 802 after his father’s passing, and has since resigned over Yūyake. In 819 the Princess would be born, followed by the first Prince four years later, and second Prince two years after that. Having remained in power to the present day, the king’s health has begun to waver and fears of his death are rising, though he is yet to succumb to illness nor age, and continues to rule.

The Royal family.

King Tōsha Yūyake.

the Royal King himself; overseer of the Kingdom’s affairs and beloved leader. Currently afflicted by illness and age, his tenacity is yet to waver.

Queen Lua Yūyake.

the Royal Queen of Yūyake - the handler of diplomatic affairs and internal workings of the kingdom. Whilst not as prominent a figure as the King, Queen Lua remains much loved by the population due to a kind, loving demeanour.

The first princess.

First and only daughter of the current king and queen, she is currently next in line for the throne, when her father passes. Reserved and level headed, the Princess’ kindness towards those of Yūyake seemingly knows no limit.

The first prince.

First Prince of the Royal Family, this young man is loudly spoken and courageous in every sense of the word. Despite dreaming of a life adventuring alongside the Luralchium class adventurers so commonly seen conversing with his mother and father, the young Prince has been forbidden from becoming an adventurer by both parents.

The second prince.

the Second Prince isn’t quite as much of a trouble maker as his brother, but is not as reserved as his sister. He sits in the middle - a responsible young boy with a strong drive to get out and travel the kingdom, or even the world itself.
